OT: If You Have a Moment, Please Pray
Hey Everyone,
If you have a moment, would you please pray for my cat, Miss Kitty? We took her and my other cat to the vet on Wednesday to be declawed because they were damaging the walls and furniture with their claws. They had to stay overnight, so we picked them up on Thursday morning. Little Bit is doing great, but by Thursday afternoon, Miss Kitty had chewed out one of her stitches and was bleeding quite a bit, so we took her back in, and the doc put some antiseptic medication on the wound and bandaged her paw up and sent her home. He told us to remove the wrap on Saturday.
We took the bandage off of her a little while ago and while she is not bleeding, there is an open wound that we can see on her paw, and she isn't walking on it. We called the emergency number for the Vet's office, and he told us to put her in a small room where there was nothing for her to jump up onto with her food, water and litter box until Monday, and if she is no better we are to bring her in. If she gets any worse, we are to call him and take her in immediately.
We put her in our walk in closet at first, but there is no ventilation in there, as there isn't an ac vent, and with the door closed it gets hot and stuffy in there, so we moved her to the bathroom where there is a night light so that she can have some light, and an ac vent to keep the room cool (bacteria breeds in warmth, and we are worried about infection)to prevent bacteria and keep her comfortable. We put down a king sized comforter for her to lay on (there is no carpet, only tile, in the bathroom), and placed her food, water, and litter box in there.
I'm so worried about her that it's making me sick. Please pray for her. I love her so much and would go to the end of the earth to make sure that she is okay.
Thank you,
Angel

Awwwwwwww....she will be fine. I know our pets are our babies and we do not like to see them sick or hurt.
One thing I always do with any cuts, scrapes and such on my cat is to put Neosporin on it. It will not hurt the animal and it will help to keep down on the infection.
Even if they lick it off...it is ok. I usually just use a Q-Tip and gently put a moderate coating of it over the wound.
You may have to wrap the Cat in a towel to do it, but if she is relaxed and trusting you, you may be able to just sit with her and put it on her foot.
Good Luck and I am sure she will be ok.
