Update on Fish

We went to the Neurosurgeon yesterday!  It was an all day trip! We were woren slap out when it was over! They wanted to do Fish's surgery today but couldn't get some one bumped so we are doing it at the crack of dawn on Tuesday, June 3rd.  The day before my birthday! I told Dr. Ryan that for my birthday he could give me my husband back out of surgery okay and back to the healthy man I know. They are only going to do one surgery on Tuesday.  Dr. Ryan said that he thinks once he gets those three disc out maybe he will not have to have the surgery on the elbow. But after three weeks, if we see no signs of improvement on the hand then we are gonna do the other one. He doesn't want Fish to be permanently paralyzed but he thinks the first surgery will corrected the temporary p. that he has now. I was instructed by Dr Ryan that he is not suppose to do anything, lift anything or turn his head too much before Tuesday - sounds kinda scary to me! He told Fish he could go to work today long enough to pass off any work and any projects since he does work for the USAF, but after that to go home and do nothing! He gave me a list of instructions a mile long!  So basically for the next 6 to 8 weeks, Fish is to sit, sleep in a recliner and I have to handle every thing else. Well, I am sure Mr. Aiden isn't going to be too happy that Pop can't hold him!  So it's gonna be interesting! Fish wasn't too happy with all these instructions - you know being a man - they don't want to depend on any one not even the wife! I think he forgot we said for better or for worse and in sickness and in health! Samantha is going with me on Tuesday!  She says that she doesn't think I can handle it by myself.  I just think she is more scared about her Diddy (daddy) than she wants to let on! So please pray for us! Thanks so much for listening! Lisa and Fish

Connie, Thank you so very much for your prayers.  They are so needed and appreciated. Believe me, we are glad to be back!  I tell y'all more about us than our biological families. They are just so quick to tell me what I am doing wrong, or what I should have done, on and on and on. They never take the time to walk in my shoes - except to remind me where I have screwed up. Thanks again, darling! Lisa and Fish

Thanks Ms. DebbieDoo! I am putting my foot down and I think my threats of spending all of his LIFE insurance with another man has put the icing on the cake!  LOL! He has been doing good - let's just hope it continues until we get through it all. Thank you for all your prayers! Lisa and Fish

Carmen, I knew I could count on you to pray for my Fisher man!  I am agreeing with you in Jesus name that Fish will have a quick and easy recovery! And thank you for believing that I will have the strength to carry the load!  But regardless of how I may feel, I will always remember that I promised when I took for better or worse, in sickness and in health - it was and is forever! So I may cry on y'all shoulders but I have promised myself that Fish will not!  I have to keep a stiff upper lip so he won't worry! love you girlie! Lisa and Fish

Carmen, First let me point this out -YOU DON'T HAVE BIG OLE SHOULDERS!  You are way too little for anything BIG to be on you!  Isn't that great! It is awesome that all our parts got smaller since WLS! Now as for the other,  how many times have we both cried on each other's shoulders about our two babies and how the military treats them now and has treated  them in the past. WLS brought us together but the love for our children has made us buddies!  And you are one buddy that I know I can depend on to be there with encouraging words and always prayers! We get Fish well, and maybe, just maybe we will have to say...... Mexico here we come again! Every time I look at those pictures, I think about how much fun that we had together!  It always puts a smile on my face! xoxox, Lisa and Fish

Lisa.....I will continue to pray for you and Fish.  I know Dr. Ryan and you have made a good choice.  He is a good surgeon with a low infection rate.  Since you will be here in Montgomery, do not hesitate to call me if you need anything!!
