How many people have TOTALLY changed their hairstyle once you got close to your goal weight? I am within 10 lbs of my goal weight but I am happy where I am IF I don't lose any more.  My BMI is under 25 now, so I'm no longer overweight.  My problem is that my hair now seems to be "frizzy" and unmanagable all the time.  The hair that is coming back in where I lost hair post op is coming in curly!  I think that may be part of the problem.  I've got "curly" hair mixed with "thick, straight as a board hair"  I'm thinking of cutting it off really short, maybe kinda spikey...but not sure if I want to get that extreme yet.  Any suggestions????????

Prior to WLS I kept curly hair or long hair (mainly perms in my hair) After WLS I can't even tell you the last time I had a perm in my hair!! And yeah I also cut it off and I like to use the straightener on it and flatten it out.  When your ready to change it you'll know and you will just do it. I came home and Teddy (My DH) said What did you do?? He loved my longer hair. OH well... Hope you have a great Memorial Day!!

Hey Rhonda I know where your coming from. Before surgery I kept mine shoulder length permed and colored. Now that I have lost all this weight it has seen several styles and a lot of different colors. I have done highlight and lowlights. It has seen everthing from red to very blonde and in between. In the next few days I will be getting a different color and a new cut.  Its just hair it will grow back.  Go extreme and shock all of them. You are a new person and need a new look.

Mine has always been straight.  It is less straight, but not curly.  I went with natural color after having had it dyed for several years.  But I do put in highlights, because I am not grey enough for it to look good without help.  I change my hair length with the season.  I would go with what looked best on me.....and go to an upscale salon where someone can help with that decision, make pictures, and then go to the less expensive places later if you like it and take your pictures.

Yes, I totally changed mine. Mine is still falling out but now it is for a different reason *big sigh*. It is coming back different yet again. Now it is very fine (the little baby hair) who knows what it will be later. I am back using Nioxin mixed with Pantene restoratives. Love it. Try a different style!!

Honey, after having so much hair when I was way fat - it was almost like being a new me! I couldn't wait for the hair to come off with the weights coming off! So now I have almost a GI cut like Fish - but you know what - I just wear ear rings so everyone knows that he's married to a woman! It's so wonderful to be free! So do what makes you happy!  IF that's long, great - IF that's short, great!  Just do it the way you want too! And don't let any one spoil your happiness! Hair doesn't tell who you are down deep inside any way. Lisa and Fish

I say find the style YOU really like, and just go for it!  It is only hair, and it will grow back if you don't like it.
