I was wondering.  You got there pretty quick.  Its not that far from your house.  I usually go to the one in Prattville.  Its the closest to me from home..  I have been in town and driven all the way over there only because i like that one.

I used to knock the "doc in a box" (DIAB) concept but never again! I have had a couple of issues (stomach flus, what not...) anyway, my GP is across town and is very good but very busy. So I have gone to the DIAB down the street and they have been wonderful!  I love 'em now!  Good luck and I hope all goes well for you!

Thanks! I love a doc in the box too. They have helped me out numerous times when it was hard to get into my regular docs.

I am home! Dale walked down to  Primed and met me as I was leaving then he took me to lunch. What a sweetie!  Anyway, nothing is broken. The doc said that it could be a torn muscle or ligament but seeing it won't show up on an x-ray that if it is not better by Tuesday to call him back and they will refer me to an orthopaedic doctor. Fortunately I already have one lined up for Wednesday if need be. So, he is treating my elbow as if it is sprained. He gave me script for 8 muscle relaxers (for free thanks to a coupon he gave me as well).  Told me to take Advil or Alleve 3 times a day and put ice on it 3 times a day as well.  I also am sporting around in a nice navy blue sling! It matches nothing! LOL!!!! So, pray I am better by Tuesday....please!!!!!

Hey Gail...

Did he mention epicondylitis?  That's the medical term for tennis elbow or golfer's elbow..they are only slightly different.  They can make you think you have done some serious damage...when in truth it's inflammation.  I work ortho and we carry laptops all day long and I had an awful case of lateral epicondylitis for 4 months.   Some days I thought my arm would fall off!  Other days I almost wished it would fall off.  Anyway it's fairly simple to treat.  A mild steroid injection into the site, ice, anti inflammatory meds and a tennis elbow strap.  Me I just like to suffer!  No truthfully I was too full of pride to let the Doc's know I was hurting until I couldn't stand anymore.  So...anyway that's my thoughts.

Blessings,

Lisa

Now that you mention it he did say tennis elbow. Being he couldn't see any other damage from the xray that is defeinately how he is treating minus the sterios injection. I am feeling a difference today already after icing several times yesterday and taking the muscle relaxer (NICE!!!) last night. I have been taking Alleve 3 times a day as well. There is still some major pain if I move it too much but I do admit it's feeling better already. I am hoping by Tuesday that this will be a past problem. Thanks for you thoughts. Much appreciated!
