What a wild ride
I was working last night (driving and ambulance) our patient was a lady in labor way to early. We had to travel from southern Alabama to Montgomery. The Doctor at the hospital we were picking her up in told us "You have no chance of making it to Montgomery with out this baby coming I hope you are ready to catch it" My paramedic partner and I have never delivered a baby. I could tell my partner was nervous I told her just say your prayers and do all you know to do and the Lord will help with the rest and that I would be up front saying my prayers and driving like a bat out of you know where so stay seated and hold on when you can.
It was amazing as I was driving (95 mph) I was praying and asking the Lord to help move everyone out of my way and to get us to the hospital safely. Every single car moved out of my lane way before I got to them. I mean not a single person slowed me down. When I was getting to the turn I needed to make off of the Hwy I took my foot off the gas and coasted a little ways to slow down before putting on the break. But guess what when I mashed the break petal I HAD NO BREAKSthere was a bit of an incline so I was able to slow down enough to make the turn. By this time the contractions are very close together so I just keep driving for the hospital (much slower) with no breaks. I figure I will try down shifting, pulling in the grass or the emergency break if I have to. I drove in town and every car moved over way before I got to them and every intersection had a green light. I coasted up just past the ambulance bay and stopped in the perfect spot. We even got the patient in the hospital and in a bed with the baby still inside. When the hospital staff checked Mom it was looking like there was a bigger problem going on than we knew about and I think we got her there just in time.
It was just so amazing to me that I had to share.
You guys have a great day I am going to bed.

He does indeed look out for us, even if we might not be aware of it at the time. Glad to hear that all turned out well. :)
