My appointments

So, I had two appointments this past week. First with my PCP and then with the exercise therapist. They both went well, and it seems like my PCP is finally on board.  Thank the Lord, as this was really a source of stress for me.  Next week I have an appointment with a nutritionist. So, it finally seems like things are moving along and that I'm actually making progress. Since my insurance requires "behavior modification", (yet they "can't" tell me exactly what they want), I think I am actually going to go ahead and make an appointment with a psychologist that deals with eating disorders. Hopefully this will meet their qualifications, even though a psych eval is not required.  The only thing that is a bit disconcerning to me is that I feel like I am sort of on my own in making these appointments. I've contacted the coordinator at my surgeon's office several times, but it seems like we are playing phone tag. That's okay for right now though, as my 3 months won't be up until august 14th (not that i am counting or anything! LOL) Well, that's what's going on with me. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. :)

Sounds like you have to jump through a lot of hoops these days, but it is worth it. I think finding someone who deals with eating disorders is a great idea, because old habits can come back if we let them, don't ask me how I know, lol.   Jan

I think so too. In my mind, it has obviously been a form of disordered eating that has gotten me in to this position.  Insurance will cover the visits, so I don't think it would hurt to talk to someone in hopes of developing a healthy relationship with food.
