I have an issue that I hope ya'll can help me with but WARNING THIS IS A GROSS TOPIC! Symba is our 1 year old yellow lab/boxer mix baby boy!  For the past week or so I have noticed him not eating, now we are talking about a dog that eats a good 2 LARGE bowls of dog food mixed with what ever left overs we might have,  when he is ok!  Anyways, he has gotten so thin, he acts like he is depressed with no energy.  My DH and I both thought it was because his better half is due to have pups in a few days.  However, the last few days I have noticed him vomiting clear liquids and then this morning he got sick with a dark brown color and had long worms in it. Other than running to the VET can anyone suggestion something I can do to help him.  I know the sell stuff at Walmart but I think he would need something a bit stronger.  I know I know I will end up at the vets but.....any other ideas?

You need to go to the vet as soon as possible.  I'm sure you are past the point of home remedies if the dog is vomiting up worms!

I wouldn't chance it with walmart, sounds like he has worms and he also could have heart worms, My sis lost her lab to heartworms he stopped eating also.

You don't need to waste your money at Walmart.  He needs to go to the vet.  If he has been sick for a while you may not need to wait til Monday.  Things progress very fast sometimes with animals.  Please keep us updated on his condition.  There are many animal lovers on this board.

Thank you all for the help and kind words.  So this is what we did.... I called the only 2 vets in town.  One said that there was no way she could see him today as she already has 2 emergancies and closes at 12.  The other which we use, to me to save my money (which would have been close to $200) and do the following: 1.) Call the Farm & Feed Store in town and see if they have D-Worm Tablets for Large Dogs.  If so buy 3 tablets and give him 1 1/2 ASAP, which will work within the next 4 hours and then give him the other  1 1/2 next Saturday to make sure it got rid of all the worms. 2.) Go to the grocery store and buy 2 quarts/2 bottles of unflavored Pedialyte for kiddos and make sure he drinks all of it.  That will help with the dehydration, which she was sure he had! So I have done both but getting him to eat and drink is like pulling teeth from a lion.  I shoved the pills down, like she said I might have to do, then he got mad and hid under my bed.  Poor baby doesn't know I am trying to help him.  So I had to get him out and try to get him to drink.  Still trying the drinking thing!!!  She said if he isn't better by Monday (which she is 95% sure he will be) than bring him anyways! Please continue to pray for my baby boy and me too!  My heart is breaking, I just pray I don't loose him.  We have only had him about 5 months but all my fur babies mean the world to me.  He is the only boy too!  And gonna be a daddy sometime this week, I hope this week! Thanks again for dealing with my whining this morning!  I love you all! PS:  I'll try to post a pic of my baby boy in a few minutes!  Comp is running slow today! ~Susan

I hope you are able to get that pedialyte in him. I would not assume he has had all his vaccinations since you got him at an older age. as soon as he is feeling better I would take him in and get him a series of parvo boosters. We have seen alot of parvo this year and you would be surprised at the people  who assumed their dog was fully vaccinated. Praying for your baby to feel better soon Kim
