Are you a State of alaska employee?  If so, look at pages 57 -58 of the booklet (pages 76 - 77 of the pdf document) online at  http://www.state.ak.us/drb/ghlb/select/s_bw.pdf Good luck!

Topic: RE: OT possibly moving to Unalaska/Dutch Harbor

Fun !!  I love Dutch Harbor. Not sure I would want to live out there forever but it is such a unique place ...to go to for a while. There is some health care out there that you can probably hook into...they have a big clinic there in town. And there is some work at the fisheries and perhaps for the city. As far as other big business..there isn't much.

Rentals will be much easier to find in September but if your husband is getting a job there he can talk to the company he's going to work for and perhaps they can check out some leads. As far as cats...not sure you want to take them out there. Its a long cold ride out to Dutch.

It is remote and while they do have cable TV and some small grocery stores (you won't starve out there) there aren't things like a bowling alley or movie theater. Have you ever lived in a remote setting before?

Good luck !! I happen to like Dutch Harbor but it is out there.

Topic: OT possibly moving to Unalaska/Dutch Harbor
Can anyone tell me anything about Unalaska/Dutch Harbor? My husband is applying for a position there and we will be moving there if he gets it.  I have never been to Alaska, much less an ISLAND in Alaska so any info would be great.  I am assuming that we will have to ship our belongings to the island and I was wondering if anyone has had to do that and if so, how expensive was it?  I am also worried that I won't be able to find work myself.  I have over 15 years experience in healthcare as a; CNA, Medical Assistant, Unit Secretary, Phlebotomist, and EMT.  I have worked home health, hospitals, clinics, and long term care.  I do have office skills and would consider doing something of that nature but I am not finding anything on any of the job sites at all.  I am also curious about the cost of living there.  We are also looking to rent a place that allows cats (we have 2)  and I am having a hard time finding any information about rental properties in Unalaska/ Dutch Harbor.  I know this is really off topic but ANY information would be so very helpful!  Thank you!

Topic: RE: pain after first fill
I have had three fills and  nothing like that.  I had my surgery on Feb 13th 2007.  The only pain I had was the first fill was not what i expected.  In fact I can't even feel anything when they fill or even where my band is.  I have heard of people being able to feel there band.  In fact that area where i thought was my port wasn't it is scare tissue.

Has anyone had any experience with this insurance company? I've been reading the reviews, and some people have had no problems getting coverage, and others were denied... I haven't been able to find anything about WLS in the booklet I have. Is it excluded?

Any input would I hate waiting for them to call back!

Topic: RE: Exhaustion
Thanks for the encouragement. I needed that. I am feeling somewhat more energy but not ready to run any races. I should get more exercise. We don't have any equipment at the house but I do have access to a gym. I hesitate, at this weight, to go in there but I guess I just need to get past that.  Good luck on your weight loss.  Let me know how you're progressing. Camai
