New to this board

I just got back yesterday. I had my band placed on 5/26/05. My starting weight is 235. I am just looking to connect with people in my area and find out more about what is to come. Here is a quick summary. I had the surgery with Dr. Rumbaut in Monterrey, Mexico. He was fabulous! He said that he was able to stich the band on both sides of my stomach (which I guess they cant always do) and shouldn't have to worry about slippage. I haven't felt sick r thrown up at all yet. I am getting pretty tired of chicken broth and jello though so would love some new full liquid options. It is great to know I am not alone and would love to meet some people.

Monique, I d like to do a question. About hospital (location) Is it a good location and safe in M?xico?

Hi Christy, Yes the facility was wonderful (hospital was better than the ones here in Anchorage). The staff was great. I felt very safe in Monterrey, they provided all the tranportation anywhere you may want to go. They even provided it from the hotel to all the hospitals and dr. appointments. Dr R came and visited me in the hotel after I was discharged just to check on things. The hospital is about 10 minutes from the hotel. It was great...it really was.
