WILLMAR MN - For fun and for a date, Nathan Carlson doesn't think it's weird for women to bid on him on ebay. He wants to re-experience his high school days and he wants women to pay for it. He's a teenage prom date for hire. "I'm kind of a country town boy," Carlson said. He grew up on an old pig farm. While reminiscing about his old prom, Carlson who is now 18-years old decided he would try to go back. "So I thought maybe someone will ask or maybe someone will pay," Carlson said. He figured ebay would be a good way to go about it. "I'm 18 and 5-foot 11-inches," Carlson said, "I'll pay for the tux and flowers." This is no joke, Carlson started the bidding at 30-dollars. "I figure prom is three hours, so it's 10-dollars an hour," said Carlson. "It's also cool if two girls want me as their date," Carlson said. He's pretty confident somebody will bid. "I'll make sure they have a good time," Carlson said, "I'm pretty nice." He's pretty sure his 1993 Mazda will lure the women in because as he says, "Girls always like a guy with a good car." If you're wondering what else makes Carlson such a good prom date, he says his experience tops the list. He's been to three proms at Willmar Senior High. Carlson's parents don't think the ebay idea is the smartest thing. "Teenagers don't always do the smartest things I guess," said Carlson's dad, "You hear about bad things that happen on the internet, hopefully it will turn out right." With four days of bidding left, "I've got a couple of questions, no bids yet," Carlson said. Turns out, Nathan isn't the only one doing this. Two other people have put themselves up for prom dates and no one has bid on them either.
