ANYONE MILITARY AT FORT RICHARDSON/ELMENDORF AFB?

Hey y'all!!! My name is Samantha and I am 34 yrs old.  We live on Ft Richardson.  I've been between overweight and obese for about 8 years now. I recently had my referral approved through Tricare to see Dr. Searles here in Anchorage Alaska. I've done every diet known to man and even some crazy ones seen in magazines. Nothing seems to be helping and have been researching and talking with people who have had the surgery. So I hoping with the help of Lap Band or Gastric Bypass, exercise and nutrition I will be headed in the right direction of a healthier beautiful me.

Hello.  I am due to have the sleeve surgery on JBER in the latter part of August with Dr. Clark.  i would be interested in attending a support group meeting.  When do you plan to meet with others?

Hi!!  IM HAVING MY SURGERY WITH DR.CLARK AS WELL.WHAT ALL DID YOU HAVE TO DO, I QUALIFY FOR THE SURGERY. I HAVE MY PSCH EVAL, AND NUTRITION THIS WEEK HE SAID I HAVE TO GO THRU 6MTHS NUTRITION. I GO BACK TO SEE HIM IN DEC TO SCHEDULE MY DATE..HOW LONG AFTER YOU FINISH ALL REQUIREMENTS WAS YOUR SURGERY DATE SCHEDULE..I FEEL VERY CONFIDENT WITH DR.CLARK.

After all the appointments were completed and test results given to Dr. Clark the only thing left to do was schedule the appt. I finished everything in July. My surgery is next WEEK. Dr Clarks enthusiasm is a plus. I'm excited.

I am in the process of having my Physic eval and nutrionists visit next week.  Everything else is done.  Dr. Searles is my doctor also and I am hoping everything goes smoothly and can have the surgery in Jan 2011.
I thought Dr. Searles said he does a meeting once a week.  Then there is a support group of Dr. Todd's not sure if you can attend that.  Then here in Fairbanks there is a group that meets at the Cancer center.
