My best friend who lives in alaska is being worked up for the DS, we are in Anchorage. Dr Todd said he would do it, we are checking out Dr Serles who says he also does them but we have not had an appointment with him yet.

No, I don't believe they do them. As far as I know, there are still no vetted and respected DS surgeons in Alaska. I researched and interviewed DS surgeons all over the country and like many others had to travel thousands of miles for my DS. It appears that you will or have traveled a long way as well! Have you had surgery yet?

Dr Searles did my friends. He did it all laproscopicly. She had it 4 months ago and has lost 100 lbs. She is doing great and she has healed wonderfully. Great MD, Great staff!

I am not yet a DS, still working on my revision from my 2002 RNY. Hoping I can submit next week.... for the 3rd time. And here is to hoping for an approval!!!

Revision is a complicated surgery. I'm pretty sure neither Searles nor Todd has done many of them. There actually are only a relative few surgeons who have. I'd go to them, whatever it took.
