Hi,
I just got insurance approval for the surgery and I am just waiting on a surgery date.  I am interested in getting involved in a support group prior to my procedure  and I was wondering if I would be welcome to attend your next meeting.

fyi - I went to a weight loss support group meeting, i thought, at tanana valley clinic .  It as a night meeting and mainly featured a guy from a california hospital recruiting business.  do not waste your time at these meetings

David, we are a group of pre-surgery and post-surgery patients that get together to help support each other. we have no affiliation with any doctor or other group, a majority of our patients use Dr. Todd at Alaska Bariatric Center, in anchorage, but we accept and offer support to all weight loss patients.

We meet at Fairbanks Cancer Treatment Center (at FMH) on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month at 7:00 PM. our next meeting will be this wednesday the 14th of October.
