some online stores will give you flat rate shipping or free shipping on orders over a certain amount. I have had good luck with Amazon and Netrition.

I had RNY by Dr. Todd on 8/30/08 and am down over 70 lbs. He is an amazing doctor who truly cares about his patients, and others as well. His webstie, www.alaskabariatriccenter.com, has a tab titled "SGM Info" which lists support group meeting information -- dates, times, locations -- sponsored by his office. There are meetings in the valley, as well as at Alaska Regional in Anchorage. One of the main tenents of his practice is peer support, both pre and post surgery. My mother-in-law had surgery from a "doc in the box" in Arizona shortly before mine, and has had no support and very minimal follow up from her surgeon, which has made her less successful and educated about the entire process. Since post-surgery patients need annual blood work and follow up, I STRONGLY recommend that you contact Dr. Tood's office and talk to them about joining in on the SGMs. I agree that his office appears disorganized (but I believe it is more along the lines of being extremely busy and responsive to patients' needs), but the benefits I have received from Dr. Todd and his staff -- and from my decision to have surgery -- far, far outweigh any inconvenience that perceived disorganization caused me. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me. lynne
I am new to the area alos, we moved here Nov 27th and my husband left a week ago for his deployment. I could def use some support. I am almost 9 months out also, I have 15 pounds to go, but I know it is going to be hard to get this last bit off. Well im glad I got on here and hope to meet more people who know what we are going through!
