Newbie - Had Surgery on Tuesday
I just came home this morning after having RNY on Tuesday morning, along with gall bladder removal and liver biopsy. I was so excited. I feel great. I haven't needed any pain medication in 2 days. I get around easilyThis was much easier than I expected. But, I am sitting here at home and I'm feeling very sad, and don't really understand why. I am so determined to make this work. I just wish I still felt as happy as I did a week ago.
welcome to the boards! hey give yourself a break you just had major surgery! you are going to get tired easy. i felt really good the first 2 days but them i was tired all the time. i took naps and took it easy. it took me 6 weeks to be back at full speed. just dont push your self and listen to your body if you feel tired rest or just sit down and put your feet up. keep up your liquids!

Hi Rebecca73,
I understand the unhappiness after the surgery,, I had my surgery almost one month ago, In two days will be one month and even though my energy is WAY up,, im cranky and crabby! It feels like I have PMS all the time, I think it the hormone fluctuation going on after the surgery,
I was on 3 insulins and byetta, and 2 antideppresants, 2 statins, 1 metformin, and lisinipril (blood preesure meds) and a sleeping pill at night,, now I take nothing, but lots of chewable vitamins and protein,, I think we are making such major lifestyle changes that its hard to be peppy all the time. I think this sadness will pass, and I will pray for you! My name is Rebekah too. I was born in 73 so mabey we have this in common,, Talk to you soon and keep your head up.. Good job on the surgery! Rebekah

Congrats on having your surgery. I had mine 10/9/08, I too am in Anchorage and I think its the weather and darkness. I don't have all the energy but I do find myself stuck in the house a lot. See I just got here in July and I have never had to drive on the ice before so it keeps me in. I think it would be wise and I hope I take to my own words, to get out and walk it will bring up the endorphins, I just have to practice what I preach
