support group?

is there a support group here in north pole or fairbanks?

Rebecca there is one in Fairbanks at TVCC on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm.  It is primarily for patients of Alverado surgeons but I was told I was welcome.  I haven't been yet but I'm planning on giving it a shot.  Maybe we could go together! Kari

Is there any support group meetings out here in the Valley or in Anchorage. I have been looking for one out here but no such luck. I have thought of starting my own anyone have any ideas on how to get a place to have a open meeting.

I know there are groups in the Anchorage area.  Try contacting Dr. Todds office I bet they could give you a list of them.  I know he has a great group but I'm not sure if it is only for his clients or not.   I've been looking in to starting a group here on Ft. Wainwright.  Some ideas for venues might include, hospital classrooms, church classroom, the rotary club, lions den, mason's lodge, VFW, maybe a hotel would be willing to allow you access to one of their meeting rooms.  Contact some other support group leaders (AA, NA, ALANON, Etc.)  and ask where they have meetings.  The weather is warming up, what about a pavillion at a park or on the board walk bown by the water?
