I agree that we could do much better with our state forum.  It is so difficult living in the AK interior we are so far removed from everyone.  This seems like a logical and valuable resource that is being untapped.  I'll mention this at my next support group meeting. AKFlurry

An active Alaska forum would be wonderful! I am LapBand removal and planning on a VSG later this year. 

Hey I am moving to Fairbanks...well Fort Wainwright with my husband in March and I am hoping to to get Lap Band now that Tricare is covering it.  I am a 5 month old son and would love to make some friends so I am not so alone when I move up there.

I'm over near the coast in Bethel. Best of luck with the Lab Band, I didn't consider any other procedure. I had it removed in Dec. because I couldn't tolerate the new pouich. So now I am thinking about having the VSG, but will need clearance from my Cardiologist and that might not be so easy :-(

HI you guys. I am in Anchorage and had gastric bypass in April and am pretty happy with it. I just need to keep the pouch rules in mind. But I have lost 95 lbs and my energy level is great. Am interested in how you're doing in Bethel. I lived out there for many years.  Camai
