Newbie!

Hi! I just started the journey to my "birthday". I've been reading a lot on the OH site and trying to get as much information as possible on WLS. I had my first appointment yesterday with my PCM and requested the referrals. I was so prepared in case I got a hard time from the Dr., but he immediately started the referrals and there are a lot of them. Since I am TriCare Prime, there are certain "hoops" I must go through and I do understand that. The only really discourageing thing he mentioned was that if I get referred to Dr. Todd down in Anchorage he heard there was a three year wait due to the demand. I certainly hope that that isn't the case. Then again, I'm not sure they will even refer me to him. I really don't want to go out of state if I can help it, but I don't think there are any other Bariatric Surgeons practicing in Alaska that are acceptable to TriWest. I live in North Pole, but I'd be more than willing to travel to Anchorage. Anyway, I guess I just wanted to say Hi and officially join the group. Pat
