Topic: VSG Surgery Scheduled for June 1st. Any recovery tips? or recovery stories are welcomed.

I am so excited that the day is so close.  I start my 3 week protein shake diet on May 11.  I know it is going to be extremely tough but I will just keep telling myself that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I am curious about how sore you are afterwards?  How are the first 3 weeks after surgery while you are adjusting to your new stomach?  Do you feel sick?  Any tips and stories would be welcomed and appreciated.

Thanks

Topic: My psychologist has helped me to finally loose weight!

Ok my psychologist is the best. She has helped me so much I found out tonight that she used to work in the Edmonton Batiatric Surgery Clinic! How lucky am I! I having been working on this prevention plan to help me limit my pop. Since starting with her I've lost 5 pounds by just changing the way I think about my pop. I know I've posted about food Addictiom but wow I ghink I this is amazing. I wish more people knew about the behaviours we do that are so harmful buy just using food... Amanda is amazing I want to pass along her information to everyone!!! Here's her website. http://deguerrecounsellin.wix.com/deguerrecounselling

Topic: From start to finish

Hello all, I am just starting my process. I am about to start my modules next week. My regular doctor wants me to do that first. He said he would refer me after me doing a couple of modules. How did you find the modules? Where should a person get referred to Edmonton, Red Deer or Calgary? I am in Drayton Valley.  What happens when you get to the clinic?  How many visits? What can I do ahead of time before I get to clinc?

No one has said anything to me about having to losing anything before the surgery, and I have dpne 6 months worth of educational classes that was required. I know two weeks before the surgery the surgeon puts you on a liquid only diet.

It varies from doctor to doctor. We are in Alberta and some clinics require it some don't. Hopefully they'll let you know soon!
