i am with Edmonton clinic there wonderful .. They have modules that I cant speak enough about as I took these twice because I enjoyed them and they helped me understand a lot I didn't , none the less , you will have visits right up till your surgery , I waited 8 months but I also used to be on a waiting list back in nova scotia too , my son waited 8 months and no he wasn't on a waiting list , it will also depending on your doctor which one will be assigned to you as well , the process will go faster then you expect I believe , everyone really is different but it wasn't as long as I expected and im not sure now there wait list , but the staff as in your nurse she can give you a timeline how far back they are if you ask hope that helps

hello! I had my first appoint at the clinic at the beginning of May. now I have many more appointments with nutritionist, internist, psychologist and then my case manager again End of July. Can others who have been in the clinic tell me how many months or years it takes prior to surgery approval? I was part of the evolution study as well. the more information about the clinic the better!!!
Well, well, well, this is going to be a glorious 3 weeks ; - ) I am on day 3 and I pretty much can't stand the shakes. My dietician and I have come up with a pre-op diet plan, which at least allows me to have some oatmeal for breakfast and a cup of veggies for supper. The hunger is there but believe it or not, it is not killing me but I am finding my cravings are through the roof. Ahhhhh, just keep thinking "light at the end of the tunnel"
A tip for everyone else "buy some flavored extracts to add to shakes to help change up the flavor". I bought coconut extract and add it to the vanilla shake and add ice and put it in the blender. It makes you feel like you are having much more than you actually are and it gives it a different flavor.
if its in Edmonton the pre op classes are to give you information on what to expect diet wise before surgery . what you can eat after , and what kind of vitiams and how much to take , also talking about the type of surgery and after care , now usually after your meeting the doctor puts you on his booking for surgery list which may not be long if your having your classes now , they usually give 2 or more weeks as most want the 2 week diet before hand , hope this helps
Which clinic are you going to? There are ones in Red Deer, Edmonton and Calgary that I know of. Probably more;)
