Hi Tara W., I am wondering how long did it take from your referral to different appointments to your surgery date?
I don't know what all I need to get ready hahaha. I've got child care and stuff arranged. Everything else will fall into place. I have a class and a bunch of appointments next Monday so I'll find out way more then. My nurse said I probably won't have to do a pre diet so yippee for that!!

Hi,
Your probably looking at a year and a half when it's all said and done. That said there are only so many spots available for surgery so not everyone gets approved. You go through the classes, wait to see a doctor, wait some more then the doctor decides if your approved then you wait even longer. I do believe Alberta is better than most provinces though.
It's not a quick process.

OMG!!!!! I am so happy for you!!! Finally!!! You must be so excited.... I know I couldn't wait. I thought that I was going to kinda freak out when the day actually showed up and I was in the hospital but I didn't. I was so ready, I didn't cry or anything. lol
I feel so much better. i'm down 50 lbs total with the liquid diet. I can breath without weezing now. The mobility is the best. I am so glad it did it!
July 16th isn't that far away. Do you have everything ready? If you have any questions feel free to ask me :)

Got the call Friday! Got my surgery date for July 16th in red deer with Dr.Menezes. Wowsers!!

I went through Red Deer although it took 2 years to get accepted as my paperwork was lost! Went to Orientation April 1, 2014. First clinic appt April 8, lost my 10% and was approved for surgery in Sept, surgery Nov 12
