I had my surgery on June 1, 2015 and I was 338. As of today, Sept 2, I am at 264. I have been at this weight for the last 2 weeks. I am eating but still only getting in about 800/day. I have amped up my exercise routine recently and am hoping to get out of the 260's by the end of next week. Is it normal to have a stand still period?
Wishing you all the best!

I am feeling the same way right now. I have been accepted into the Calgary clinic, I have done all my courses, seen the psychologist and I am seeing a dietician every few months. I went away for 3 weeks on a family holiday, didn't track my food like I was asked but I was very honest that I will not be doing it as I will be so busy and that we share dinners with the family and I will be walking tons.
We went to Las Vegas for 4 days and 1 week in Disneyland. I walked an average of 22,000 steps a day. Yup, I was sore and surprised that I did not feel too bad with 15 hour days at the park.
It was very tough as we ate out for all three meals and drank as much water as possible. I came home and had lost 4 lbs.
So the part that is scaring me is that I am still slowly losing weight and my BMI is dropping. I meet with the surgeon Sept. 11th, 2015 to see if I will be approved for WLS surgery. Does anyone know about the Calgary clinic and if this is an issue ?

Oh and I was told surgery will be scheduled for 12-14 weeks after my intake with the surgeon on the 17 of nov. IF I LOOSE the 10% I'm required to loose by nov. 17 so I'm possibly looking to have it done sometime between feb 15 and the 29, 2016. If that changes I will let you know. It's actually not that far away and the time is going to fly because of the up coming appointments I have in red deer (I'm from Calgary) then thanks giving, then Christmas the time is going to be crazy fast

I'm having the bypass as well but in red deer my surgeon is Dr. Ferris

That's how long it took me to get in as well, mind you they first told me it wouldn't be until October or nov. before the orientation, then I got a letter 2 months earlier than I was first told. A week later on August 25 was my first intake appointment with the nurse the intake with the dentition is on sept 3 and the intake with the psychologist is on oct 6 then the intake appointment with the surgeon is nov. 17
I have to say tho working with my Dr. During the waiting period for the orientation I had all the required tests done except for the scope. I had my stress test (ekg. Eec. Etc) sleep test, any MRIs I needed done for the pain I am in detecting osteoarthritis all done. I started my journal logging as soon as I got my letter with the date of orientation as well. The more prepared you are shows your commitment and willingness to make the required life long changes that are required of you.
Hope ps this answers your question

Congratulations. It is still going to be a long process so keep eating healthy. It is about 2 years before your surgery if you are getting it in Edmonton. I have heard it's quicker in Red Deer.
I had the Gastric bypass. I am trying really hard to get my water up. I have struggled with a very heavy full tight feeling since surgery. I am working my way through it. You are right, I need to get my water intake up. Today I decided to make 0 calorie home made popsicles hoping that it would help. I will see in a few days.
I will take pictures too. Scary. LOL
Thank you for your kind words and support.

Definitely listsn and follow your doctor's orders. Always. Do not push the gym thing before you're cleared. Walking is juyst as good. Also, you might want to up your water to 8 glasses per day. Dehydration is a real possibility with the sleeve and not a road you want to travel.
For tracking non scale victories, in addition to measurements, take photos. I do it every 2- 3 months, full body, pretty much same style clothes and in the same location. It was only in looking at those progressive photos that I saw the changes. Keep up the good work!
