Well I saw my team on Dec 4 at the weight wise clinic. After seeing my dietician and psychologist, my Dr gave me my referral for surgery. I will be seeing Dr. Karmali on Jan 10 for my consult.
We are currently looking at the Gastric sleeve as my surgery choice and will find out from there where we go and how long it will take.
I am relieved to be in so very quickly knowing the general wait times as well as knowing how long I have been on this particular journey.
Well here I am one month later Surgery was on Nov 9th.
In the last 30 days I have lost over 25 lbs from my pre op weigh in. I Feel fantastic and am slowly learning how to get all my Protein in. Recovery was very fast and I was up and doing light housework in 4 days (Including 2 days at the hospital).
The hardest part for me at this point is trying to eat enough. The whole never feeling hunger thing is pretty cool. I love being able to say to NO when people ask if I am hungry.
I have stuck very close to my plan and found out that the small of pizza no longer agrees with me after we had family over and they brought pizza for dinner, I had to leave the room. The one thing my nutritionist stressed to me was I can still eat all the same foods as I could before, I just eat much less of them. I was never a big popcorn, chip person before and I have not really touched them in the last month. I did have a small brownie one evening at a Christmas event, but other than that I eat protein first and veg second if I can fit it in. I have not touched anything caffeinated in over a month and nothing carbonated, although I have been tempted by beer.
This month has gone so well I cannot wait to see how the next month goes. My only regret is not doing this sooner. As of today my BMI is 30.6 and I look forward to only being overweight in the new year or sooner.
i first went to see dr toy in july, i had another consult in sept, called in oct to book for surgery. the first available was in feb. yippi...the cost is about 12,500 including gst. he is going to give me a boob reduction, nothing could look worse than they do now....the complete tummy tuck with lipo and an inner thigh reduction. i think it is going to look way better. i was very worried about the cost compared to how much better it will look, believe it will be worth the price.
Are you planning another procedure? Sending you hugs for your surgery day.

I am feeling a little scared about the band removal. I want so much to be feeling better but I am scared about the surgery and even more scared about gaining weight. :(

Hi Donna
So glad we caught up with each other. One of the attendees lives up by the airport, so with people from all over the city, it made sense to hold it at a central location with easy parking that is easily accessible from all parts of the city. So that's our initial meeting place, but I'm really just trying to get the ball rolling and if the group wants to continue to meet, we can choose a time and location together. Hope to see you there.
