Topic: Lap Band is .....OUT!

Had surgery on friday and am feeling really great today. Thank you so much for your well wishes.  I am going to get my stomach healed up,  endeavor to keep the weightloss stable   and look at a revision in a few months ( once I am healed up).

Anyone in Calgary gone from band to sleeve?? How long did you wait?  How have things turned out for you?

thanks so much.

Thanks very much!  The band is out and I already feel so much better.  I can't believe the torture I have gone through for almost 2 years.  :(

Though I have had the surgery pain to deal with the past few days ....I am feeling amazing.  I can finally eat without pain and vomiting....a first for me in a very long time.

Yes,  I am considering another procedure but have to heal up first!  I see the surgeon in 3 weeks and we will discuss the options.  In calgary ...the only options are  sleeve or band.  He said I could consider by-pass but would have to go to Edmonton and don't know how long I will be on a waiting list for that revision.  I am really leaning towards the sleeve but am still researching it though.

Take care.

I also had the gastric bypass surgery, and am back to my original plus more weight and less all my teeth because I turned to cola, candy, liqour and what ever else would stay down, plus acid erosion to my teeth from all the vomiting,I would suggest if you ever want to eat normal again to try your best to do it naturally, find a good nutritionist along with your doctor and do not give up,,20 years later and I am still fat (there was a time when I was a size 7(small for me)however the mirror still showed the 250 girl..The lapband I have heard is much better however get all the facts b4 and after the surgery..that was my biggest mistake..good luck
