Topic: Workout options for Women (Not in the gym!)

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to check back and see how everyone was doing!  Happy new year to you all and I'm happy to see so many well on the way in their journeys!

Several of you know me, some have met me in person, others we're just seeing each other today!  Hi!

I'm teaching several community and online classes and I wanted to share with you, as you might find the formats a refreshing change from 'regular' workout options.  In my path to finding ways to workout that suited my size, my skill, my ability and my creativity/self every step along the way...one thing I know to be true (for me and others) is that workouts need to be fun! They shouldn't be punishing or boring - or we'll really struggle to to them.  That's not failure, that's normal...but so often we can get discouraged.

I've got BellyFit (morning classes) coming up in February.

I've got 2 regular evening FlirtyGirl Fitness classes (flirty/fun dance/pop style not dirty ok!)  Monday and Thursday nights.

I also coach a variety of online in-home fitness options if working out in the community is not something you 'do' yet...or if you are long distance or out of town!

Please join me on Facebook and say 'hi' my page is www.facebook.com/hotspotfitness and I'd love to connect with you more.  I certainly have a number of plus-sized, every size, every age and every ability in my class.  My focus has always been fun fitness for everybody and every body! Because I think I've been one of every size on this journey! :)

If there is a class or format that grabs your attention, just let me know and I'll be happy to give you details.

I have been on the one cup diet per meal since November.what they told me that you can eat what you want as long it has a starch, protein (very important ) and veggie and it fits into one cup. I usually eat 2 boiled eggs, and a slice of toast or a cup of cearal with milk for breakfast. A cup of soup with a slice of bread or wrap with a little bit of meat and cheese for lunch , sometimes i will have left overs from the night before. I have been cooking and eating the same way before I started my diet but reduced the portion size now to a cup and i have lost over 22lbs. But it is very important that you cut out junk and pop and drink water and don't snack in between meals . The first few weeks are tough but it is worth it in the end :0) Hope this was helpful ! Good luck.

I have my appointment with the Red Deer clinic on Friday and know I will be on the one cup diet so I was wondering from those of you who had to do it if you had any recipes that follow their guidelines that you can share. I plan on making big batches of things and then just freezing it in 1 cup portions.

Hi everyone. I am new to this forum. I recently was referred to the clinic in edmonton. I heard the wait times are much shorter now. Was I misinformed? What exactly is the process?

Kaizen unflavoured whey pretty much disappears into lots of things. It has a faint milky taste that I find inoffensive. I often make myself "stealth protein" by blending 2 scoops of it into a cup of milk and just adding it to stuff (coffee anyone?) as I go through my day.

I buy it at SaveOn, near the pharmacy.

Oh - it isn't great in broth, but is perfectly fine in cream soups. Stir the milk/whey mixture into your hot soup while stirring.

Also at SaveOn is a brand called Whey Gourmet. I buy the fruit flavoured ones and mix them into my cold sf drinks. The plus of those isn't the flavour, which while not offensive isn't especially exciting. HOWEVER, they can be added to my Rubbermaid water bottle of sf Hawaiian Punch, the bottle shaken well, and that's it. No lumps.

I add skim milk powder to soups, yogurt, sf pudding, tea, etc. 4 tablespoons gives me 9 grams of protein.

My dietician recommended Beneprotein.  It was easy to add to cream soups, yogurts, puddings etc... by the spoonful since I was eating so little early out.  You can order it from your pharmacy.  I ordered mine from Shopper's Drug Mart.  By about 4 months out I was drinking protein shakes with whey isolate from Popeye's.  It was flavoured though.  Another idea is to add dry skim milk powder to your food.  It will add some protein.

Now I drink a premade chocolate premier protein drink every day which I buy from Costco.
