Anyone have the sleeve with Beat the Odds out of SK ?? I think I am going to go with them. So far their service has been outstanding!! Their consultants stay with you the whole time. I also personally know 3 people who have used them and all had the surgery with great results.

Yes I will be going out of country, I am not "big" enough for the programs here.I saw my doctor yesterday and got his support and he agrees this is a logical next step for me.  Huge relief and went a long way with the Hubby

I talked to Barry and if you like we can set up a time for you and your hubby to come for coffee and ask all the questions you like. Do you think that would be helpful?

Are you looking to have it done out of Country?

If not, the weight wise program handles all the aftercare.  When I go see my doctor now we go over things but as far as the care of my sleeve it is up to the clinic and it works well that way.

If you are going out of country, can I ask why? Have you tried to access the programs here?

I might want to do that with my Husband, he really wants to support me, but is very skeptical of WLS surgery and thinks it will be a waste of money and I still wont be happy with my body. I was so happy he was open to it, money and all, but it was hard to talk to him about how my physical body does not match my inner self and how much I need it to. I am not thinking this is some miracle or easy way out. I am ready to do any work involved, I would just like to have my body working with me for a change and not against me.

I had a long talk with my husband last night about doing this. Of course the money is a huge concern as it would add to our debt. But He also knows how so very unhappy I am with my body and how many times I have done programs successfully only to gain it back. He was not opposed, but is concerned it will just be another failed program. I need to get him more information. But overall he was open to it.

I am going to try and see my family doctor this week, and see what he has to say? I am wondering if he is not familar with the sleeve or after care, anyone in the edmonton area have a doctor who they went to post surgery???

Ask what her reasons are and we'll be happy to help with answers.

I'm in Edmonton - do the 2 of you ever come down here? If so I'm sure we could find a time that you, your wife, my husband and I could get together for coffee and talk.

My pre-op diet was for a week, but I started a week early. (Yes, I was that eager) It's a good thing I did because I found the high protein, low carb diet a real challenge, and the second week went much better than the first.

Depending on your job you might find a week off plenty. I could have managed a relaxed desk job at about a week out. My sis runs the small medical clinic in her (tiny) town and was glad she took 2 weeks off.

As I said in the other forum, I'd be happy to meet for coffee.

I booked my surgery June 2nd and had my surgery on the 26th. Amazing service, excellent care, and other than some constipation issues really no downside. (Other than the cost of smaller clothes and shoes...)
