Fleur de Lis tummy tucks are not covered by AHS so if Dr. Nohr is willing to do it for only the panni fee covered by AHS you are in luck. Dr Toy is wonderful but it is a $6500 fee for having the Fleur de Lis with lipo done. I've seen him and had a quote done but haven't decided when I want or am able to get it done. I wish someone would do mine for free. Having only an estimated 3 pounds of skin is also awesome.
Good Luck.
Kee.

You can either believe it will happen.....or believe it won't. Both are self fulfilled prophesies. For Me it has happened. My Surgery was September 21/2010
Very interesting...because I seen Dr. Nohr yesterday and he has offered to do my panni (Fleur de Lis) and it is covered by AHC. I am nervous about recovery, not so much the scars. He figures there is about 3 lbs that will be removed. Did your brother have a small panni? Maybe Dr. Nohr thought it was too small to cause issues? I have no idea otherwise. He was very cordial with me and said he would be happy to do mine. I have picked a date the end of June. If I don't scare myself out of it first...

My brother had his RNY with Dr. Nohr a few years ago. He was initially told that the panni isn't covered by AB Health, which is a total lie. When my brother consulted with Nohr last year about the panni, he essentially was booted from his office. Nohr said it was an unnecessary elective procedure. So, my brother got a consult with Dr. Jonathan Toy in Edmonton in December of last year and had his panni/tummy tuck, and lipo at the end of January. Dr. Toy is the plastic surgeon who is associated with the Edmonton Adult Bariatric clinic and specialized in contouring for weight loss surgery patients. You may want to consider getting a referral to him. Your GP can do that if Nohr won't.
Cheers!

Hi - Just wondering if anyone has had a panni done by Dr. Nohr in Medicine Hat in the last 6 to 8 months or so? How was your experience and recovery?

Look at the big picture and what accomplishment you'll have by doing what you need to do. It's a battle you will fight for the rest of your life not just today or tomorrow.
I'm 28 months out from surgery, I've been very successful but still have low motivation days, days when I don't track, don't take my vitamins, and just want to eat garbage foods. I'm still human and I do make mistakes but I find reevaluating and refocusing does it for me. My scales can still show a gain after I've gone off track and to be honest it scares the **** out of me cause I don't ever want to be where I was before surgery and I have seen first hand that weight loss surgery can fail well really no the person fails the surgery and not the surgery fails the person.
Pop is one of the hugh things that prohibits weight loss, it's liquid calories, totally full of caffeine and not good for your body yet it's one of the hardest things to give up.I had to quit it cold turkey, there was no other way for me. Thus far I haven't had it post-op, although there are some who still drink it I can honestly say I will never go back to it.
My surgery was done with a 32 french bougie which is quite small and back in December I had to have a fluroscopy done for a bowel obstruction diagnosis and the radiologist couldn't believe that my sleeve didn't have any stretch to it, she made several comments in the report that my gastric sleeve was in remarkable shape and had no stretch capacity to it as when it got too full vomiting occurred. That report made me realize that although this journey has been tough at time I've done everything in my power to make it a success and keep it a success. I've used all the tools I've gained through the clinic and my results have been way above average.
Just do it, do what needs to be done and reap the rewards from it. Pep talk to yourself in the mirror each morning as you are starting your day. You are worth the change therefore just do it.
Good Luck.
Kee.

awe its not easy but you could try to turn your pepsi into diet pepsi then drink less and less i don't actually track calories but i do journal everyday and wow does that help me alot i actually see what i eat and what i lack since knowning i have to add a fruit or veggie so its become my bible , i couldn't see myself not keeping record of what i eat even when i am out i write it down on a napkin so when i come home i rememeber all i had and i fill in my book , its little changes like that you wont find so hard , i think you will be fine in the clinic don't worry yourself over being rejected im sure if you know there is a problem and you need help they will see too and help you every step of the way
Just put on your big girl panties and do it.

It's important to exercise due diligence and not just going for the cheapest instead of carefully researching the surgeon and facility before booking. One of the reasons I felt fine about going to Dr Aceves was a link Dr Sharma had posted on his blog and Dr Karmali had commented positively on. It was to a profile of one of Dr Alvarez's patients, and Dr Alvarez was one of the 3 surgeons I contacted once I decided that the 2 Canadian surgeons that do self-pay WLS were not suitable for me. (The other 2 are Dr Aceves are Dr Cirangle)
Dr Aceves had done over 1500 sleeves - the surgeon in Quebec "over 100." I was able to talk directly to several Dr Aceves patients, but none of the surgeon in Quebec. I didn't even look at the surgeons that operate in strip malls or use "recovery houses." My health is too important to "bargain hunt."
No matter where you have surgery done, it's important to do your own research, talk to other patients, and get help with nutritional and head issues.

Not everyone who goes down to Mexico or elsewhere are as lucky as some. This article quote Dr. DeGara from the Revision Clinic at the Royal Alex.

It is a battle, but the one thing you need to do is make tracking a habit.
It takes time to develop a habit. I tend to log before I eat, that seems to help me make better choices. Are you using the app on your phone? if so, that makes it easier. At first I was worried what my co-workers and friends would say, but I found them to be very supportive.
Like you I had a Diet Pepsi habit, it does take time to break, I started by replacing one every now and then with water or something else, over time I was able to cut it down to the point I just stopped one day, I could not tell you when, because I do not know, I just stopped buying it and have had not felt a craving in months.
Just remember this is about the journey, not the destination, the harder you work now the better the payoff in the end.
