I don't know what clinic you are out of but in Red Deer you have to have the scope done so that the surgeon can see your stomach befor the surgery to check for issues and also so that he is not going in blind when you have the surgery. The scope is done by the surgeon who is doing your surgery.

I was told by the nurse that not every one has to do the liquid diet or have a scope done. Does any one know the conditions when they are not required? I think I remember that Keelan didn't have to do the liquid pre diet.....
I have high hopes that I don't have to do the liquid pre OP, as I have no health issues besides sore joints.
I am sure I will find out more at my initial assessment, but I am curious now

I am not sure if Dr. Nohr is involved with the new bariatric clinic in Medicine Hat.  That is something you could always ask down the road.  I think working on lifestyle changes now is a good thing and will only help you with your weight loss journey, whether you have surgery or not.  Good luck and keep us posted.  You could always phone Dr. Carl Nohr's office and find out if he is a surgeon for this clinic or if he is on his own.

Yay! You have taken the first step! I know wait times can be really long. The one thing I did was add myself to cancelation list both for my consult and my surgery, and it really sped the process up with Dr. Nohr, so maybe the clinic you are going thru has a similar list?

I read the article you attached..... it sounds more like a instrument failure more than doctor failure......... but I would not worry.  Unfortunately all doctors are human and all have made mistakes before.  Any and all surgeries have risks

I actually would applaud this doctor for admitting fault with the surgery, as there are not a lot of doctors that would admit it.

You will have a great experience with the clinic I'm sure
