That sounds so interesting! You will have to give us an update on how you meeting with them goes!

I"m not too worried about the pain. How long did the doctor say you would be off work? Just curious so I know how much time

so I can tell my coworkers/employer.

What was told to me was that it was a study to assess different educational and self -management interventions to help patients while they wait to get into the weight management program.

There are three different educational interventions:

1) a series of weight wise group education

2) Weight Wise online sessions

3) Educational material delivered to you

They follow you prior to entering the program and then 6 months afterwards.

Hey everyone.  I was curious if any other out there was contacted from the "Evolution" study being done through the University of Alberta?

I was and I have an appointment to go and see them on Wednesday for their "Data Collecting".

I was wondering if anyone else out there was contacted about it and if you chose to participate or no... and why you made the decision you did.

Thanks in advance

Shelly

Topic: RE: Red Deer patients - how long did it take to get the gastroscopy?
I am going to Red Deer. When they booked my gastroscopy I waited for about 2weeks, it was over a year away (Feb 2014)! Shortly after that I got a call that it was moved up to October of this year with the possibility of being moved up again (cancellations). Hang tight. I think they give you the worst case scenario to manage expectations.

I have been told that the surgery can be booked within a couple of months of the gastroscopy. I don't have my date yet but am hoping for the end of this year.

Hope that helps a little.

Yeah it's pretty amazing how "normal" looking my belly is... I don't ever remember having a flat tummy in my entire life before.... I kept almost chickening out when I would think of all the staples and huge cuts.... But then I decided to let go of my fears! When you reach your goal, and book a panni, just remember the pain part of it is only temporary, and really, not at all as bad as you would think it should be!

For the Rny I needed a referral but I think because I was already seen by him I didn't require a referral for the panni. I just called his office and booked consultation... Are you considering a panni?
