Congrats! September 7th is just around the corner and will change your life forever for the better!
Thanks for the update. I'm on Day 4 of my liquid diet and have surgery in Edmonton on September 7th. I'm looking forward to the results and am always happy to hear other's updates.
Congrats on sticking to a plan and your baby!
I was sleeved Feb 2012. Started off around 333 lbs. Got down to 155 lbs but bounced back up to 165 lbs where my body seemed to have been happy there.
Got pregnant in 2014, and gained back 70 lbs. It took me almost 2 years to get back on track.
But just wanted to let the newbies know that this far out, I don't regret for even 1 second having this surgery. I don't think I could have ever done it on my own from the start.
Now I have about 30ish lbs to get back to 165 which is my goal. I'd like to get back there by February 2017 as it will be 5 years since I'm sleeved and want to make the Bariatric team proud that I have been successful at this even at 5 years! :)
I currently workout at home and following a meal plan, and I'm loving the results! I'm almost 40 years old and have never felt this great in all my life! Even if you have fallen off the wagon, know that it is possible to get back on and get your life back! :)
Hi. I'm curious if there is anyone out there from Calgary that actually had surgery? I am trying to have a revision done from a failed surgery I had in 2000 but I can't seem to find anyone who's actually had surgery and is from Calgary. Thanks
I took a Bariatric Surgery Class last August, and in June
Preparing for Bariatric Surgery Part 1, this week Preparing for Bariatric Surgery Part 2, next week: Maintaining the Change. When I took the Weight Wise modules, I believe there was 10. I swa able to take them locally. They are listed here, but with other classes you don't have to take: http://www.albertahealthservices.ca/assets/programs/ps-cdm-c lass-descrip.pdf
You may be able to access them through Telehealth - where they would basically teleconference them to you.
Hi,
Thanks so much for all the information. I have already started tracking my food and my steps. I have also attended the craving change program here in Yellowknife. Can you tell which other classes you had to take for the weight wise program?
This seems so weird, because the two classes I've attended in Edmonton so far have not had every seat full. Did you get into the class in June?
The assessment appointment was a lot of paperwork and background questions. Make sure you have all of your current medications and vitamins handy for them to see.

Because I had journaled my food consistently for a year before starting at the clinic, had no other co-morbities and had attended all Weight Wise modules, I was fast tracked somewhat. I've talked to other people at the clinic who have been there 2 - 5 years without a date.
