How long of a process is it? Timeline help please

I spent 22 months before surgery two weeks ago. It's a long haul and can be frustrating.

Hi,

Your probably looking at a year and a half when it's all said and done.  That said there are only so many spots available for surgery so not everyone gets approved.  You go through the classes, wait to see a doctor, wait some more then the doctor decides if your approved then you wait even longer.  I do believe Alberta is better than most provinces though.

It's not a quick process.

I have been going to the Bariatric Clinic in the Royal Alex Hospital for over a year, but my journey began over two years ago in my hometown (3 hours away). It all depends on what you require and how long the wait time is in between the required appointments, since there is hundreds of people in the Weight Wise program it's longer wait times then you'd hope. Everyones experience is different, I am currently on the Optifast liquid diet so my surgery should be roughly a month away but I don't get a set date until September 3, 2015.
