Wait Times

I was referred to the calgary clinic last March (2014) had my intake spot with the nurse in May. Nutrition classes July-August. I was approved for surgery and met the surgeon end of January (2015). He told me from the time I meet him for the first time until surgery would be about 4 months. So my surgery should be end of May-beginning of June.

I had to go through my family doctor who then referred me and I got a call two weeks later to meet surgeon in May.  Not sure how long things will take from there.

I am also in the Calgary clinic and I met with the surgeon for the first time in mid-Jan and his estimate for surgery date is mid-May to early June. After you finish your 6 mandatory classes it is usually less than a year before your surgery.  It all depends on booking of appts and the availability.

Thank you. I think I've decided to go have it done in Mexico. I had VBG back in 2000 and now need a revision. 

Hello Geminidawn, I'm just curious what a VBG surgery is and what kind of revision you will have? Sorry if I'm being too nosy!

Hi. It's a vertical banded gastroplasty, the old stomach stapling. I want to have a revision to the gastric sleeve. Not too nosy at all:)
