Hey Tara,
I didn't mention but thought that I would... They provide inflatable compression stalkings. They are so cool. They inflate and deflate and inflate and.... As well the bed is amazing!! It is inflates and deflates. When you move your body even the slightest it adjusts the air in the bed so that you don't get bed sores. It was wonderful.
Carrie :)
When you wake up from surgery you'll already have the compression stockings on. They automatically inflate and deflate and move the air around. When you get up to walk around you'll have to call a nurse to come take them off and they'll hook them back up when you get back in bed. Congratulations on your journey!
I had my surgery in Red Deer in November. I had no issues at all. As soon as I woke up I was so happy and relieved because I'd been debating for such a long time on whether this was the right thing for me. When it was over I didn't have to worry anymore. I have no regrets at all. So far I'm down 37lbs from surgery, 75 lbs from last March when I started with the clinic. You'll be anxious and panic a bit and really wonder if you should or not but don't let your emotions outthink your common sense and what you know is scientifically proven to be so helpful.
Yeah, that's what I figured would happen. Panic will set in once I'm at the hospital. I'm hoping they give me a sedative to bring me back to earth ;)
Were the youtube videos right with their packing for the hospital or did you find that you wished you had brought something? Was your stay in the hospital 3 plus days? Lots of the videos show the patient coming home the next day.
