Can anyone recommend a plastic surgeon in Alberta?  I'm still a ways away but researching.  I will have my tummy done and a thigh lift for sure.  Would like my arms and breasts done and a face lift and and and but I really don't need all that stuff.  My thighs bother me the most and seeing AB covers the tummy I'm going for it lol.

Dr. Jonathan Toy in Edmonton is a specialist in reconstructive surgery after massive weight loss.  I've had two rounds of reconstructive surgery with him and am happy with the results so far.  I say so far as I'm only a week out from my last session.  I'm not the only one who thinks Toy is a great surgeon.  http://www.ratemds.com/doctor-ratings/3198877/Dr-Jonathan-To y-Edmonton-AB.html.  He is also well known and respected over North America, from what I hear.

Like most plastic surgeons, they are long wait lists for consults. Over a year for Toy.  However, he's worth it, of you can afford it.

Finally, AB only covers the pannus removal (skin below the belly button) and chest reduction.  Everything else is user pay.

Cheers!

Thanks!  I keep bouncing back and forth if I'm even going to bother with PS.  Yes it would make my 'naked' results better but I'm not keen on more surgery.  The last month though I have been getting belly button infections so I will probably need my stomach done eventually.  Definitely don't need boob reduction, the weight loss is doing that all by itself lol.

From your stats below, it's most likely that you would only need the panni. There are very few WLS patients that can get away with it.  My wife was one of them until she continued to drop. Now, she would be happier with an abdominoplasty, but that is out of the realm of financial possibility right now.

There is nothing to lose (or gain) by having your GP refer you to Dr. Toy. You can use the wait time to really determine if you need/want the panni. Just my two cents.

cheers!

I know that Dr. Toy is NOT accepting referrals right now.  It's on their answering service.  So, I assume this is part of the weight.

Your other option is to get referred to a different plastic surgeon in Edmonton.  The downside to this is that some surgeons once they hear weight loss surgery automatically send you back to Toy.  However, based on your stats, it's tough call.  I would research who else you might want to consider and inquire before putting a referral in.

Cheers!
