It's hard to wait isn't it.   I'm currently in the program no idea when surgery will be.  But I've had my first meeting the the head nurse and she thinks I'm an excellent candidate.  They're so great there!  Both Shelley and I did a study called evolution.  If you can get into the study they steam line the wait and you seem to get into the clinic faster.  Worth looking into.  I emailed them and volunteered myself, smartest thing I could have done.   Just google evolution study and you can read about it.  Good luck.  Keep us posted!

Awsome, thanks for the info! I will defiantly look into it! What was the waiting time from doctor referral to meeting the nurse?

was your family or spouse supportive of your desicions? I haven't told any of my family yet about this and alittle nervous to!

Also nervous to be turned away! I'm right at the minimum weight to be accepted!

The minimum weight is a bmi of 35 with two comorbidities.  So sleep apnea, high blood pressure, depression, diabities, osteoarthritis, there's probably more I can't remember or A bmi of 40 or higher with none.

I told my family about it before I went to see my doctor.  I was all set to convince him to refer me. But he was sooo on board he's had two other patients that had the sleeve this year from red deer and he loves the clinic!  I was referred July 24th.  Then I emailed the study and they called me in for my first meeting with them August 25th.  They booked me in for my orientation October 7th with my first appointment November 4th.   The study really helped get the ball rolling I've heard if you're just a regular referral it can be 5 to 6 months for orientation

my my husband is super supportive and so is my entire family.  They know what I've tried and how hard I've worked with little to no movement on the scale.  Sometime it just doesn't work.  I don't think people who see me walking down the street would guess I've walked two half marathons and will bike 90km a day in the summer.   I'm probably more fit then most 130lb women. But man I'd like to bike a hill without having to stop and puke at the top ;)
