Red Deer patients - how long did it take to get the gastroscopy?

Hi everyone,

I'm to the point within the Red Deer clinic that the only "required" appointments I have left is the psych evaluation and the gastroscopy.  I received a call from my surgeon's office today saying I have been put on the list to be scheduled for the gastroscopy, and the would call me with that appointment in a FEW MONTHS.  I asked her if there's a cancelation list I can be put on and she said they've already put me on it. 

So...how long did you have to wait for this procedure and then how much longer after that did you finally get your surgery?

I was booked for mine in early December of last yr and had mine Mid February

 

I am going to Red Deer. When they booked my gastroscopy I waited for about 2weeks, it was over a year away (Feb 2014)! Shortly after that I got a call that it was moved up to October of this year with the possibility of being moved up again (cancellations). Hang tight. I think they give you the worst case scenario to manage expectations.

I have been told that the surgery can be booked within a couple of months of the gastroscopy. I don't have my date yet but am hoping for the end of this year.

I hope it doesn't take that long!  I got my psych evaluation booked for next month, I really don't want to wait another year!

I was book for November and had mine done this past Friday.  They called Wednesday with a cancelation and I said yes!  In/Out...super easy procedure.

I know people who were going thru the program in Red Deer. Their scope referral was put thru in January, they got their projected date in May for February 2014, then got a phone call a few weeks later that there was a cancelation and they had it a week later.
