WLS Buddies in Calgary

Hello Everyone. My name is Mary. I am 33 and live in Calgary. I am having Gastric Bypass in a few months in Red Deer. Since January of this year I have been trying to lose the 10% body weight before surgery. Well I have lost 62lbs to date. I feel great. A new me already. I am 20lbs away from my lowest "adult" weight ever. I still have 100lbs left to lose. I am making this post because I am not able to attend the support group meetings in Red Deer. I really don't personally know anyone going through the same things I am. So I am making this post looking for friends in Calgary. Anyone want to hang out??? I need a female friend that I can talk to about what we are going though. I would love to find a gym buddy or a coffee "date."

Hi, Im from Calgary too. I had my RNY gastric bypass 15 months ago in Medicine Hat, I know last year we were trying to put together a meet up for Calgary people who would like to go for coffee, but the timing didnt seem to work out very well. I hope that we can get a little group together as I think it would be wonderful to be able to have people going through similar experiences to share. Im sure my husband and "normal"  friends are tired of me talking about my surgery and changes to my body etc LOL It would be fun to have local support !
