I had RNY surgery in 2004 and lost a lot of weight ( 483lbs the day of surgery to 154lbs ) everything was good until I had a bad accident and was one bed rest for months and left with a bum leg and not allowed to exercise to prolong my knee and leg from surgeries.......I have gained almost 100 lbs back and also noticing that I have heart burn again which is close to impossible after RNY as there is no stomach acid. My dr thinks that I have had a re union of my new stomach to the old area and has referred me to the revision clinic of the weight wise clinic in Edmonton. My original surgeon is Dr. Noir in Medicine Hat and he was great but he does not do revisions. Any help or information would be great. I have done a lot of research but most of the info is from the USA and their surgeons. I can't find detailed information on the Edmonton clinic and the procedures the revision clinic uses or their surgeons.

I believe Dr deGara runs the Edmonton revision clinic. I've never met him or been to the revision clinic, but at least it's a starting point.
I do know a person who had revision with him and is quite happy, but don't know if she is on OH. I'll send her a note about your post though.

I am also interested in revision.  I had a gastroplasty done in 1986.  Lost 120 lbs.  Kept it off for 12 years.  Went thru crappy divorce.  Met wonderful man, ate out a lot enjoyed wine with meals, quit smoking, gained it all back over 5 or 6 years.  Went to dr. Noir and was told no revision.  I have been researching and am booked to go to mexico in march.  Will either revise to sleeve or gastric bypass.  They say it might not be possible to revise the old stomach stapling to sleeve.  Any body else in calgaryghad revision from old ggastroplasty?   Personal email [email protected]
