Goal Reached!
Hi! My goal keeps changing. When I first decided on wls, I thought that if I could get to 170 I would be so happy. Then I got to 170 and I decided, just 10 more pounds. I reached that goal and then I wanted to lose 10 more. I now sit at 150, and have been at this weight for the last 6 months. I am pretty happy being at 150. But I worry about the bounceback everyone says to expect. So ultimately I would like to be 140 lbs, so I could have 10 lbs room for bounceback. I have been cheating quite a bit lately and I know I have to smarten up. The malabsorbtion of calories is still working for me, but I know I am on the tail end of this and suddenly I am going to start gaining. For now I am concentrating on maintaining and fighting those carb demons and constant snacking. I am having a panni surgery done by Dr. Nohr the end of June. I am terrified yet excited. He said not to expect a big change in weight as he figures he will remove about 3 lbs. But I am looking forward to having a flatter stomach and clothes fitting me better. I figure if I don't do this surgery, I will regret it down the road. I hope recovery goes smooth...
Congrats, by the way, for reaching your goal. You've done awesome!

Thats awesome. My goal recently changed too from 175 to 165. My height is 5"6' so for me that is a healthy weight for my size.
I try not to focus too much on a number and just remember to make healthy lifestyle choices with food and exercise. I'm sure
my body will adjust to the right weight at the right time although I get very impatient at times.
I'm just trying to break a hundred right now and hope to by the end of this month which will be 6 month since my surgery.
How long did it take you to get to your goal weight?
Stephanie
Its been 2yrs and 4 months, it has been 6 months to lose this last 5lbs. That being said I eat anything and everything, Just trying to record calories to keep an eye on it. Not making a "real" effort to lose. Just saying "no thanks" on occasion and being aware. I get a lot of empty calories from alcohol as well which doesn't help.. But I love to walk, or do a yoga video, take zumba classes on occasion and ride a bike.. All those things will help to keep me where I want to be :)
Yay! Congrats on reaching your goal! Like Giselle my goal kept changing as well lol! I wanted to reach 150 lbs, then once there changed to 140, then 130, then 120.... Now that I am 116 lbs, I feel I'm done! But if I have bounce back, then I would like to maintain around 120 to 125. I met with dr Nohr yesterday for my panni consult, and he called me a good rule follower lol that made me feel really good! But I really have cheated a couple of times with not so healthy choices, but overall I am proud and determined to keep up with my new eating, and life. My panni is booked for May 16, and again like Giselle, he said I won't see a change to the number on the scale... Maybe a pound or 2, but that's ok, I'll just be glad to be rid of the skin! I think if you are content on your goal weight, then no need to change it! Just try to keep doing what you are doing and if you lose more, then it's meant to be, and if not, then it means you are at your perfect manageable weight! Congrats!

wow that"s great! What is the wait list like to see Dr Nhor about a panni? Is it anything like the wait for surgery? How long does he require you maintain your weight before being considered? Does he charge any out of pocket expenses? My consultation for my arms has been a 3 month wait, I go Monday :) hopefully its not much longer to wait for the actual surgery, summers coming!
There was no wait at all! I called last month, was booked for consult with in 4 weeks, and surgery booked for 6 weeks! I think it really just depends on your body what he will do and what is covered. I can't believe he is willing to do the muscle tightening. I think that normally would be extra, but, and I can't believe these words would ever be typed about me, with being under 120 lbs he said he has to, or it wouldn't look right. So thank goodness! I've been close to the same weight since December... They like you to be about 6 months the same weight, so I guess I'm close enough! With your arms, what is the out of pocket cost for that? Eventually and ideally I'd like arms, butt, and breasts done.... But that will require so serious saving money or winning lotto lol

Had my consultation with Dr Hasell in Lethbridge yesterday and called today for the surgery date May 10th!! So excited! Total cost is $3780 it went up a few hundred since a friend had it done in Feb :( But still do-able for me :) Can't beleive its so close gives me a little healing time before summer! He did says he tries to discourage people from having it due to the massive scars, but once he seen my arms I think he knew scars was the much better option for me. I only needs 2 weeks off work and then back at it. No over head stretching kind of thing for a while.. I am thrilled :) Next I will save up for a breast lift perhaps.
YAY!!!!!! And that is so fast! That is great news!

At my last appointment with Dr. Nohr, I was able to book a panni pretty much whenever I wanted. I picked the end of June so I could time being off recovering with having my kids home and not have to pay for them to go to summer camps. I think I could have had an appointment up to 4-6 weeks later like Calla. As far as I know, there are not any out of pocket costs for the panni. Just Dr. Nohr approving you for surgery. Its scary but I am excited as well. My arms aren't great, but I can live with them. My 'girls' on he other hand are a mess. My husband keeps telling me a boob is a boob, and with the wonderful bras out there I figure I will just live with them. I am still going to try to lose another 10 lbs. Try - being the key word. Gotta cut out the carbs and sweets!
