hello jessica welcome to the form , i can tell you only what i experienced , weight wise are awesome they help so much with being motivated , by the time you get your nurse appointment , you will also do modules which i believe are the best i ever taken especially craving change which is the module i really enjoyed the most ,, you will see a few people before actually getting a surgery date , but think of it this way , you perhaps will not wait a full year because from what i heard they are moving patients along very well , you work with them do as they expect and you will see the Surgeon faster then you expect , they have to make sure you are able to handle this life time change really so wanting the quick fix dont always work it may for some but for some it dont , dont get discouraged or frustrated for many of us on this form been thru the program is still in the program and have no complaints about things expected from them , the staff at weight wise Edmonton are great , so with that said i do wish you the best , remember always some here to help if you need it ...
awe its not easy but you could try to turn your pepsi into diet pepsi then drink less and less i don't actually track calories but i do journal everyday and wow does that help me alot i actually see what i eat and what i lack since knowning i have to add a fruit or veggie so its become my bible , i couldn't see myself not keeping record of what i eat even when i am out i write it down on a napkin so when i come home i rememeber all i had and i fill in my book , its little changes like that you wont find so hard , i think you will be fine in the clinic don't worry yourself over being rejected im sure if you know there is a problem and you need help they will see too and help you every step of the way
my dietician personally didnt ask but also i bring in my journal each visit she does go over it and does her own count maybe its because i am a person of habit not sure but no actually she does and then i must say when you do modules for weight wise alot of the information you will get will be papers on things you eat and how much calories they are which will help you as well , but if you really want to get into counting you could always do a web search on you journal each day and add them up , perhaps

HI !! I can totally relate to where you are. I too am in my early 30s. I do have children but, I stopped at 2 because it would not have been healthy for me to have more children because of my weight. I have anxiety/depression that is treated now thank goodness and I deff have major lethargy. (btw have you had your thyroid tested? if not it will be done in your initial blood work). Like the other lady said it will happen sooner than you think but the best advice is also like she said do EVERYTHING they tell you and things will go smoothly. Im not saying I have been perfect by any stretch of the imagination LOL ....but they are understanding too. As long as they see you have completed or are completing your modules and have made improved lifestyle choices you will be good to go. :) Weight Wise has honestly changed my life ......the biggest thing it has changed in my life is my thought process when it comes to food. I had really bad all or nothing thinking and I had very bad self talk. I still talk crap to myself lol ...but its much better. In anycase, you are in an amazing program that is found no where else in the world pretty much. If you would like to chat you can email me and I can give you my cell for chat or what ever :) [email protected] Also you should join our Facebook group Patients at Weight Wise Edmonton and area.
I'll post more about myself soon, still trying to figure out how to navigate this site on my phone. I'm just so happy to find you all!
