How are you feeling? I'm in Mexicali as support person for a friend who is being sleeved by Dr Aceves tomorrow. She's nervous (as we all were) but I know she's going to do really well.

I am doing very well! I am recovering as planned. I hope everything is as good for your friend! Following the post op diet is the number 1 most important thing. No straying from it. Walking, get her to walk. She won't want to. Force her to walk, eat, and drink.

I already warned her that I'll be harassing her to walk and drink.

Dr Aceves has a slow refeeding plan - she won't get anything approaching food for a couple of weeks. First she'll be drinking clear fluids, then a period of full fluids. She knows how important it is to follow her plan, and I know she'll do well.

Addendum: she's a rock star! We actually walked 2 blocks to 7-11 today with her in jammies and robe. She was tuckered and pretty darned sore, but proud as can be, and that gas is sure doing a good job of exiting.
