I had gastric bypass 12 weeks ago and in the last week I have had some constipation.

Are we allowed to use laxatives?

Thanks

You can use Restorlax but you have to drink tons of water with it and for me that's a problem. You can try prune juice or puree prune like babies have. Natural is better seeing as you are only 12 weeks out.

I now use Metmucil simply clear and add it too my water or crystal light as it doesn't get gritty at all and absolutely no taste. It does fill me up for longer periods of time. But it works.

You can either believe it will happen.....or believe it won't.  Both are self fulfilled prophesies. For Me it has happened.  My Surgery was September 21/2010

I was told lactulose. I actually picked some up today. Ask the pharmacist for it. Or if its really bad ie. you need instant relief to try Senokot??   or a suppository of some sort.
