Nausea

Hi Everyone,

I have been having some issues with nausea. I had my surgery on October 31/12 and have lost 57 lbs.

Just wondering if anyone else has had the same issues and how you adjusted.

Also how long after your surgery can you have a panni? I have been told that there are plastic surgeons associated

with the weight wise clinic in Edmonton that will do them for free.

Has anyone had one and what were your results?

Thanks for your help

Nausea can be associated with acid reflex. Are you currently taking any form of acid reducer pills like Nexium or Prevacid.  Also I found that my sleeve didn't like certain foods until later out from surgery. If I ate and it bothered me I would wait and try it again in about a month. Now I usually only get nausea if I don't chew enough which lead to me vomiting.

Panni surgery is covered by Alberta health but that only covers from the belly button down, anything above you have to cover yourself because it's then considered a tummy tuck. Dr Toy is who Weight Wise referred me too and he is super nice and definitely knows his stuff. The clinic won't refer you until you have pretty much completed the losing phase and your weight had been stable for 6 months, that may have changed cause it's been a year since I have been discharged from the clinic.

You can either believe it will happen.....or believe it won't.  Both are self fulfilled prophesies. For Me it has happened.  My Surgery was September 21/2010

Thanks. I find greasy foods bother me but also breakfast foods like eggs.

How much did you lose in a year? How long did it take you to lose your total pounds lost?

I'm almost 28 months out from surgery and maintain easily. I can pretty much eat anything I want other than popcorn and corn in general. If i eat too fast or too much I still can get the slimies and vomit. My body still gives me a full signal which is the hiccups.

In the first year after surgery my weight lose was about 80-90 pounds, I can't even remember now the definite number but I know it took 8 months post surgery  to be 100 pounds down from my heaviest weight. Quite the roller coaster ride but I'm still loving every minute of it. I use to be a size 24 pants and 3xl  shirt now I'm wearing a small-large depending on the store and a 6-8 pants. I have never been at this weight before in my life and I've never looked like I do now.

I'm on the fence about plastic cause I'd like to have a baby but i'm given myself a time frame and if nothing happens then I'm moving on to plastics, I've already seen Dr. Toy and have my quote.
