Sleeved and home
well it is done, I had my sleeve done last Friday morning.
I spent Friday night and Saturday night in the hospital. As soon as I could (Friday evening) I got myself out of bed and started walking. I had an IV in for the first 24 hours so I would have time to let the gas clear and get the leak test done. Once everything was tested and working like it should I got off the IV and started drinking right away.
It was a great experience and all the staff at the Alec was great. I will say I think you get out of it what you put in, my roommate was not willing to listen to anything the staff offered and insisted that they would not be getting out of bed and constantly demeaned pain meds. I think they got a wakeup call when I got discharged, as I was leaving I could hear the person upset that I was getting to leave and they had to stay.
I consider myself fortunate that I have had little pain and was able to get out so soon.
I will try to keep everyone updated as the weeks go on, but at this time I am already down 7lbs from my surgery date weight.
Congrats on a successful surgery. Good luck with the rest of your journey.
Embrace each new day as it comes.
Kee.
