Need help with a couple of things
HI it;s been 6+ months since I had surgery I am doing well with the weightloss. My question is has anyone ever experienced the feeling of nausea after eating i get this spell every time I eat dinner and supper and this feeling of being weak it usually last for half hour....Another question I have has anyone ever experienced loss of hair? My hair has been falling off like crazy is this normal?
Hair loss - yepper. Just started for me at 4 months out. The hair WILL come back. Aren't you glad we're going into hat season? The reason the hair falls is that the shocks to our systems (anaesthetic, surgery, rapid weight loss) cause a whole bunch of growing hair to go into resting phase, then a few months later they fall out as new hairs start to grow in to replace them. I bought something called "Great Hair Day" off eBay, and on days that I care I use it. It's a powder that you lightly brush on your scalp in the thinnest areas. It makes your hair look a LOT thicker so you don't feel so pitiful. I have medium brown hair with some silver (according yo my husband, who swears it's pretty) and bought the salt and pepper colour.

HI well I eat a regular diet as i was shown to do I eat slowly and chew my food very well which is why i dont understand why i feel sick every time i eat. I do have an appoinment with my family doctor and hoping he can she some light on this. I do suffer from irritable bowel syndrome which i can't use the bathroom like a normal person i have to take pills all the time to help me so it just concerns me as to why this is happening, but i am glad to hear i am not alone i thought if anything was gonna happen it would be to only me so i was beating myself up about the hair loss and eating so i will try and think i am not alone...Thank You
Hi - Yes, I started losing piles of hair at about the 4 month mark, right on to about 8 months. I mean handfuls. Thankfully my hair is thick so it didn't look patchy. But it certainly became a lot thinner everywhere. Now at a year, I still lose a bit of hair but it has majorly slowed down.
I tend to get nauseous when I eat too much or too quickly. You could also be dumping a bit. Is it after every meal or are you able to figure its only after certain foods?

Hi Giselle been awhile no it happens every time i eat i do eat slowly and chew my food till is fine enough so and I also have irritable syndrome which if i dont take my pills i wont use the bathroom for a week but i try to keep the pills normal. The hair is crazy i thought i was alone in this but now i know that i am not the only one suffering over the loss of hair. I know it will grow back somday but i just want to cry when clumps come out that i even got my hair cut to my shoulders cause i thought it might help we will see its been a week since then. I have an appointment with my family doctor so hopfully he can shed some light on why i get sick everytime i eat.... I am looking forward to some good news about my health cause i am trying to stay strong with the many changes in my life....
If you are throwing up, the only other thing I can think of is maybe your stoma needs to be dilated through a gastroscopy. My surgeon does a routine gastroscopy after 5-6 weeks to take a look at things. When he was in there he dilated my stoma a bit. I wasn't having any problems with keeping food down but he must have thought the opening was too small. The procedure is a piece of cake and it didn't affect my weight loss any. Forsure talk to your doctor and get to the bottom of this. It's no way to live if you are constantly nauseous and/or throwing up. Giselle
