Hoping to try this before opting for surgery. It's pretty expensive according to the Canadian Drug Prices Database Search:

Don't wanna spend that much money till I know how other people fared on it.

Thanks

I tried Xenical, horrible!  Like pre mentioned friend, I had the oh no moment almost constantly!
Its not a long term option.  I think it's best for the 10-20 lb weight loss range. I had to quit even with their support group phone in line, I could never get it right.

The problem with using any drug to fight obesity is the reality that IF it works it has to be taken for the rest of one's life, since once you go off it the symptoms of the disease return - in other words the weight WILL come back. I'm going to be 56 next month - I don't have time to waste on temporary fixes.

The surgeon that did my sleeve explained it well, I thought. He said,"Obesity is a chronic disease that we don't have a cure for. Bariatric surgery is the best treatment we can offer at this time."

I'm down 22# since my surgery 6 weeks ago, off my pain and BP meds and feeling better than I have in years - and it's only going to get better. Having this done was the best possible decision!

I agreee with the others. Xenical isn't a cure just a temporary fix. It also comes with risk such as irreverseable liver inpairment and as well as kidney and bowel troubles. Meridia was another weight lost drug that was FDA approved and it was taken off the market a short time ago due to those factors as well as causing heart failure in woman.
I once was game to try anything that I thought would help me lose the weight until I started at the Weight Wise clinic and found out that I was only half the problem and that I had a metobalic problem tat was causing the other 50% of my weight issues. The clinic and surgery saved my life.

I had a very bad experience with this drug. It blocks your body from absorbing the fat so you end up "passing" it. I almost crapped myself in front of my husband's family. He still won't let me live it down. I would give this one two thumbs down.

Ditto the "thumbs down" on this drug....tried it several years ago. Just ran around pinched like a penguin on the way to the BR> lifestyle change, not Xenical. Has a VSG Nov.2011. Down 85 lbs! Love the new eating habits (my body loves them, my mouth and mind still have some fine tuning to do!) Best decision EVER!
