Questions??
well hello and i must say i never had surgery yet but i have faith i will , the modules im told is education packs they range from understanding stress and how it plays in you being overweight to how to eat better everyday also when you socialize , it also teaches you a better way to shop for healthy foods so my assumption would be ...modules are tools needed to help you thru your life changes so you have a better understanding of food and your way of life , ... now i think the pros and cons of telling people your having surgery is this * and its only my feelings * i believe some people like myself need support at times , these sites help you form friendships to make you go thru the process knowning there is others out there who share your feelings your emotions and sometimes share ideas that help them with food choices , i believe when your at that peek where you just need help its like a cry for friendship i know for me i look forward to reading and knowning how someone did before and after there surgery , i love the before and after pics as it gives me hope to see how wonderful people did on this program i really cant give you any cons for in my heart i dont really see anything bad about it , but im new and going thur this process being very very happy i joined this site and get to wake up to see how others feel and how they get along , i hope i given you some good points , either way welcome and im sure many others can help you with answers i cant
I'm currently in the program but out of province, I'm back in Edmonton the end of September. If you go the the Alberta health services website and find weight wise there is a description of the modules and a calendar of when they're available.
Some friends/co workers know I'm pursuing surgery, I personally won't lie if asked either.
As for normal meal, it depends on how you define normal. Will you be able to eat a well balanced meal of protein, carbs and veggies. Sure thing! Will you be able to go a buffet and eat your money's worth? Sure thing! You will also gain all your weight back if you continue to think that's normal.

Im 5 weeks out today, and doing great. I've lost 29lbs, and haven't vomited or felt nauseated at all, I have a sleeve of steel... I had surgery with Dr. Davey, have been seeing him in Bonnyville and didn't have to go through weight wise clinic. I had two weeks of full fluids after surgery, and then straight to high protein regular diet, Dr. Davey doesn't suggest doing the pureed stage as your drinking your calories and are able to take in more than you would if you chewed well and got fuller faster... So I've been eating everything I want, in moderation... mostly yogurt, cottage cheese, protein smoothie, cheese, deli meats, advocado, and crackers, and whatever meat I cook for the family for supper... no problems with anything, I get full really fast, one cheese string and piece of deli meat is all i can eat at a time, or just 5-6 bites of meat at supper. The first 2 weeks I lost 20lbs, and they say that in week 3-5 you stall as your body heals and catches up with your weight loss. Hoping things speed up, I have 200lbs left to lose, seams like it will take forever but come next summer hope to be half of me :)
