Surgery not until November now
So originally I had thought/been told that surgery would be in September after getting approval at the end of may.
I spoke with Dr. Birch's office today and she said they are booking people from April in for surgery in September, and since i was the end of may, it'd be closer to November.
I dont mind waiting so much, but it falls right smack dab into my big craft season for Christmas...I dont want to miss any craft shows (i only have 2 big ones) and i sure don't want to miss a surgery date...

Crap, did you ask if you could be put on a cancellation list? I know of a few people who got in that way. Did she mention how many people were ahead of you? I know each surgeon is different and some only have 2 days a week surgery time and also time off over summer holidays. Sorry your wait time has been extended. :(

I'm so sorry!
Do you know if you'll have to do a Pre-op diet? If not, you may get in earlier by letting the booking office know that you need minimal lead time and would like to be on their cancellation list.

Hi there!
If it helps, I was approved for surgery on April 23rd and was told last week that I am #10 on the wait list - that being said, I was told I would be looking at the end of September or October for my surgery date.
Initially I was told late June or early July so.. I doubt any of these estimates can be taken too seriously. Frustrating, but I suppose it is what it is and at the end of the day, we're lucky to be mere months from a better life instead of years like those just entering the program. :)

True enough.
When i called the end of June I was #19, when i called back 3 weeks later (like she said to) I was still #19...
she said to call back the end of August.
it just seems silly that they are speeding up clinic times for people, pushing them through, and then they have to wait so long for surgery. My time from seeing Dr Birch (end of may) to actually having my surgery (november ish?) will be the same if not longer than the amount of time i spent doing the clinics...like, hurry up and wait...
