Protein Options

I had a gastric Bypass May 2011 and have lost 105 lbs, right after my 5 weeks was up I started to run and ride an eliptical I bought because I figured nutrition was just one part and exercise was just as important. At about the post 10 week time frame I started with weight training and do it 5 times a week plus cardio 6 times a week(running, swimming, biking) and swear never to go back to my previous weight. Right from the start I had no problems with any food and the spicier the better. The proein that they recommended was so gross that I went to GNC and purchased Promasil made by Rivalus. They have 3 different flavors and I have white choc and vanilla and with only 90 cal per scoop it is THE best protein out there. I have done such a good job as my Dr said that I dont need the tummy tuck, I beg to differ. I have also done plenty of research to find different recipes for my protein intake and will post them here for everyone to try. Keep in mind that these taste good to me but may not be your cup of tea. Feel free to ask any questions , if I don't know I will research it and give to what I find out.

Protein Pancakes

2 scoops of Protein Powder
1/3 cup of water or skim milk
cinnamon to taste
teaspoon of splenda
2 eggs

mix all together with blender or mixer, you can add oats or a teaspoon of peanut butter for extra flavor instead of cinnamon

Sounds like you are doing great with your weight loss and exercise program.  One thing I really am lacking is an exercise program.  I just don't have the drive.  I know I have to get my butt in gear because at almost 9 months out, I sure can eat more and I have been at a stall for about 2-3 weeks.  I have lost 104 pounds to date and am feeling great.  I struggled with protein drinks about 4 months ago when suddenlu my tastes changed.  The prtein shakes I were using were Isoflex from Popeye's.  I think I just had too much and started gagging with it.  Then I ordered syntrax raspberry which I thought would end up like a fruit juice or crystal light.  OMG blah!  So now I am drinking Premier Protein drinks from Costco.  They are thick but I can get them down okay.  They are a bit expensive but I just bite the bullet because it seems the only type I can stand these days.  I will be trying your protein pancakes recipie.  I look forward to your future posts with protein ideas.

BTW, you are lucky Dr. Nohr diesn't think you need a panni.  For some reason I am terrified to get a panni done, something about the staples and the size of the cut.  I couldn't care about the scars.  It's more the healing.  I have a bit of a tummy hang and I will be interested to hear what Dr. Nohr says about mine.  I want the tummy gone but flip flop over whether I will do it in the end.  I need to be further along and more stable.  Ultimately I would like to lose another 18 lbs.  So maybe next year I will start thinking a little more seriously about a panni.
Take care,
Giselle

with the Promasil powder I mix with water and it goes down really good. I am going to start going to the Med Hat Support group so I can help some other people who are having problems and that may help keep me on the right track. Start slow with the exercise and do what is comfortable for you. There is so much advice on what to eat how to eat and what exercises are best. But with our new bodies it is important we take control of our bodies and figure out what works best for us. Rememeber you didn't go through all this pain and heartache for nothing.Keep up the good work
