Hi J!
Yes, the HAs are pretty much gone. I am getting very mild ones, but nothing like what brought me in last weekend. I think the ordeal they put me through scared the crap out of them and they left. I got out on Sunday afternoon after 2 CT scans, 2 lumbar punctures, two IVs, and a neurosurgeon consult. I'm still in pain, but that's more from the cutting through the muscle wall than anything else. However, I am surviving. :)
Wow, throw clots. I did a quick Google search on that. YOu have more in common with my wife. She was diagnosed with pulmonary embolisms about 3 years ago now. Sorry to hear that. What's the treatment plan? How did your consult with Dr. Karmali go? Was he has good as we said he was?
Are you planning to come to the meeting on Monday? Would love to see you there.
Cheers!

Overall, I am down 6 lbs from my pre-surgery weigh-in, but down 11 lbs since last week. Granted, those numbers include the water weight added by all the IV fluids. So, if I'm down another 5 lbs by next Monday when I see Birch, it averages 3 lbs a week, which is good I think. However, we will see. I didn't expect to take off 11 lbs this week, but I am on full fluid. So, I guess I can't be surprised.
I wouldn't say that 25-30 lbs post surgery is uncommon. I took 20 lbs off in the first month with my sleeve. However, by the clinics normal standards, it is too fast. However, they tend to lean on the side of normal people. However, it's my asertion that when dealing with obese and morbidly obese patients, you can't use the 1-2 lbs a week rule. Because as I just proved, the number doesn't work. On the other hand, you've had a special situation with your complications. So, I wouldn't worry too much. Just focus on protien if that's what your RD has said. When do you see your RD again?
Cheers!
